ENGAGEMENT: Isaac and Jennifer

I think we had to reschedule Isaac and Jennifer’s engagement session at least four or five times. Once it was boat-related, a couple times it was the weather. Neither Jennifer or myself wanted to give up on taking the engagement photos aboard their sailboat. I knew it would be challenging trying to compose interesting images being hindered by a small space, not to mention we had some pretty decent waves to deal with and, admittedly, I even got a little nauseated but I knew that sailing was important to them. Special. The place they had their second date.
Without a doubt — with no regrets, I’m SO happy that Isaac and Jennifer were flexible and we made it happen. As I drove to the session, it was raining (AGAIN!) but the skies cleared, the sun came out and we had an amazing sunset. I’m sure there is some metaphor in here about marriage, not giving up, etc. but I’ll leave that for you to ponder…

Isaac took Jennifer for a sail aboard “Wind Tune” on their second date. It worked.

ENGAGEMENT: Barrett and Erin
Holland, Michigan
I applaud Barrett and Erin for agreeing to meet me at sunrise. Not many folks are willing to meet me with a smile at 6:45 am. We only had one tiny issue, there was no sunrise – – only rain and a very cold breeze. With purple toes and more goosebumps than you could count, Erin and Barrett just took it for an extra excuse to cuddle and laugh. I’d say these two will face marriage in the same way, with a whole lot of love and a go-with-the-flow attitude.
ENGAGEMENT: Ross and Hayden
Ross, a “ginger” from Australia, and Hayden, a “ginger” from East Grand Rapids, met and fell in love. Ross has this fun, goofy side (he made me laugh!) and Hayden is the queen of smizing (smiling with your eyes.) All of this love, goofiness and smizing made me extremely excited for their wedding in a couple of weeks!
