About
Hi there! I’m Kendra. I live a simple life where technology and I often butt heads. (Thankfully, I have some pretty awesome friends that help me in that area and I actually have a website so feel free to check it out www.kendrastanleymills.com.) To be honest, sometimes even all the buttons on my camera can be frustrating but what I do love are moments. I love people. I love their stories. That’s why I have a degree in photojournalism. After nearly 15 years in the newspaper industry, I’m shifting gears and starting my own business. I still love people. I still love moments. What’s your story?
Hello dear daughter. Very nice way that you captured the essence of who you are and what you do in a succinct nutshell …. very much like your talent for capturing the essence of a story… even a complicated story, in a single beautiful or telling moment on film…. that proverbial picture that tells a thousand words. Mom may be prejudiced because you are my daughter, but really I just speak the truth, and nobody knows you like Mom knows you!
Mom is praying for all God’s blessings for you as as you start this new venture!
Love,
Mom
P.S. My top favorite photo is the 2 hockey players. There is just something about the way their bodies are positioned that is very graphic and artistic at the same time. The lines that pull your eye into the action are almost like a swirl. I don’t know how to explain it really. There is a grace of design and movement even though it is a still shot of a moment in a fight.

Kendra, these photos are awesome! You have such a flair for capturing the spirit or essence of a moment in time and distilling it into one beautiful shot. I think the proverb “a picture is worth a thousand words” comes from one of your photographs. I wish you all the best in your new adventures…

Kendra, such interesting backdrops for the jewelry … it somehow makes the already interesting and beautiful jewelry even more so!

Dear Kendra,
I just got to view the wedding photos you did in North Carolina with Carrie. To be able to see the photos that you took and that she took side by side was a treat, just as it was at Bob’s and my wedding that you both shot. Both of you are such excellent photographers, and captured such precious moments… but the amazing thing to me, is that if neither of you had had your logo on your photographs, and they had all been randomly mixed together, I know with certainty that I could have identified the ones that you took and the ones that Carrie took! I never thought that I would be able to distinguish the photographer by the style of the photo… but your photojournalist style comes through in your photography Kendra, it truly has your stamp upon it. Carrie’s shots have an elegant beauty about them, some of them make you say “Wow!”… yours constantly tell a story…kindle an interest… entice the viewer to want to know more. They captivate! Congrats to both of you Geof and his wife should be very happy with those!

Kendra. My daughter is getting married in approx fall 2016. Our summer home is on a Duck Lake. She is considering Duck lake state park. I see you did a wedding there, Bengston. Do you have those photos. Also. Do you recommend other venues.

Hi Jane,
Actually, I have only photographed family and senior portraits at Duck Lake State Park. Although I’ve never photographed a wedding there, I’m sure it would be a beautiful setting for a ceremony. Feel free to email me at kendra@kendrastanleymills.com if you have any further questions.
Best of luck in your planning!
Kendra
