Bluffton Elementary School closes

Years ago while working at the Muskegon Chronicle, I was sent to photograph the first day of school at Bluffton Elementary.  Those kids have probably already graduated from high school by now.  All these years later, I was asked to do a freelance job for the Chronicle to document the last day of school – – this time, the school won’t be reopening.  It was a sad day for a lot of students and staff members of the little school that is nestled among the dunes.  Here is a link to the story on MLive: http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2012/06/an_anchor_in_the_community_blu.html#incart_river_default

Fantastic pics, Kendra. My five kids went to Bluffton Elementary for a few years. What a shame it is closing. One of the finer elementary schools in Muskegon. Karen Maples
